Since Pokemon Yellow I've never really used any traded or nicknamed Pokemon, for some reason I always thought there was a negative effect when using a traded Pokemon or when nicknaming a Pokemon.

I want to play a Nuzlocke run and haven't played a Non-Nuzlocke run yet so I'm not sure what pro's and con's there are when taking this option, other than the obvious perma-death, need to nickname caught Pokemon and having access to some sort of shop(?).

How does trading and battling work when connecting Nuzlocke character to Non-Nuzlocke character?

I'm not really sure exactly what I want to know, just need some advice since I'm planning on diving in at the deep end!
